The Modern Progress of UNICEF & Their Goals

To better the world we live in, UNICEF has developed comprehensive plans, goals, and initiatives to make progress today and going into the future. UNICEF’s plan for 2022 – 2025 involves commitment to advancing the wellbeing of children and their rights on a global scale, and further plans moving forward toward 2030.

Sustainable Development Goals:

To Survive and Thrive

  • Access to food and nutritious diets, child-centered food systems ready for emergencies
  • Nurturing practices
  • Essential supplies available
  • Strengthening quality of health care and reducing inequality in healthcare

Education, Learning and Skills:

  • Enhance education systems and provide better learning opportunities to improve education for marginalized children
  • Create positive learning environments
  • Support modern learning styles, such as digital based learning

Protection Plan:

  • Preventing abuse, neglect, violence and the like towards children
  • Strengthen systems to address bad behavior, social, cultural, and economic determinants
  • Empower families

Creating Safe Environments:

  • Ensure safe water and essentials, by investing in solutions
  • Address climate change and locational dangers

Poverty Reduction and Social Protection

  • Implement reactive social protective systems, while strengthening links of the current ones
  • Advocate for commitments to child poverty reduction

What Does This Accomplish?

These goals are planned to be met by a wide range of factors. The change strategies involve supporting communities and bringing them into the modern age by supporting and advocating digital transformation, innovation, community improvement, partnerships, and systems to ensure nobody is left behind.

This will be enabled by better resource allocation and mobilization of resources, inclusivity and better communication, responsive and effective models for business, decentralized and empowered governance.

The principals of this plan and UNICEF’s initiatives remain strong to UNICEF’s core. Human rights and ultimately the rights of all children, equality and non-discrimination for every child, inclusion of every child, and an accessible and accountable framework will provide the motivation and foundation of all supporters involved to help reach UNICEF’s goals.

Accomplished So Far

The following are examples of UNICEF in action in the modern day, showing what's possible when we work together:

- Civil war has brought a humanitarian crisis to Sudan, displacing millions, including 5 million children. 70 Teams supplying essentials and offering mental and physical healthcare work hard to relieve.

- Launch of the Child Lens program, which implements tools for funders so they can directly see their investments impact children's lives. Promotes sustainable, child focused investment strategies.

These are only some examples of the recent accomplishments of UNICEF, but their ambitions don't end there!
